The LRWMT are delighted to say that two wonderful women have agreed to run the 2019 London Marathon to raise money for our charity.
Both doctors in East Anglia, Katherine Selby and Emma Holland will be out pounding the London streets on Sunday 28th April.
Please be generous and sponsor them as all the money they raise will go to some of the good causes that the LRWMT support.
If you are in London on April 28th please do go and cheer them on!
Always the last to be picked for sports teams at school, and PE being a dreaded time of the school day, I am amazed that 4 years ago, having decided to do "couch to 5k" I have become somewhat obsessed with running.
I did my first half marathon last year and am really excited to be running London this year for the Lady Ryder of Warsaw Memorial Trust - even more special as it is on my 46th Birthday!
I am Emma, a GP in Newmarket, running my first (and only) marathon to help fundraise for the brilliant work of the Lady Ryder of Warsaw Memorial Trust.
Lady Ryder of Warsaw Memorial Trust is a charity founded by Sue Ryder which continues charitable work according to her ideals of compassion and relief of suffering. Her first home for prisoners of war was based in Cavendish, Suffolk which is a huge inspiration for the county where I live and work. This charity has given a generous grant to Bridges To Belarus, a charity our family supports. It was founded by Dr Rachel Furley, a paediatrician at the West Suffolk Hospital, to help families and children affected by the Chernobyl disaster. This grant will be used to run a domestic violence project to improve the lives of those still affected by poverty and health problems following the nuclear disaster.
The Lady Ryder of Warsaw Memorial Trust is a company limited by guarantee and is registered in England No.3935283 | Registered Charity No: 1082295
